Vision and Mission

The general vision and mission of the Kuttampuzha Grama Panchayat are based on the core principles of achieving sustainable development and elevating the quality of life of its residents.

Vision

To transform Kuttampuzha—a region blessed with natural beauty and abundant forest resources—into a model self-governing territory that ensures equal justice and progress for all sections of society while maintaining ecological balance.

  • Sustainable Development: Implement development models that protect natural resources and forest areas.

  • Inclusiveness: Ensure equal opportunities in the mainstream of development for marginalized communities and tribal populations.

  • Health and Education: Build a healthy, poverty-free society with excellent health and educational facilities.

Mission

To turn this vision into reality, the Panchayat operates with the following objectives:

  • Tribal and Backward Classes Welfare: Ensure basic infrastructure (roads, drinking water, housing, electricity) in tribal settlements (Oorukal) and improve their livelihoods while preserving their unique culture and heritage.

  • Environment and Tourism: Capitalize on the presence of the Periyar River and dense forests to promote Eco-friendly and Responsible Tourism without harming nature.

  • Agriculture and Livelihood: Support traditional farming practices and strengthen the agricultural sector by providing necessary assistance to farmers.

  • Women Empowerment and Social Welfare: Strengthen the economic and social foundation of women through systems like Kudumbashree. Implement dedicated welfare schemes for children, the elderly, and differently-abled individuals.

  • Transparent Governance: Ensure public participation in development processes through people's planning (Janakeeyasoothranam), and deliver corruption-free, efficient public services.
